web design & code

Websites without the bloat.

I build fast, lean websites without a site builder. And when a site needs to do more than show things, I write the tool for it: upload portal, forum, newsletter.

no maintenance overhead
No plugins that constantly want updates. The site loads fast and offers hardly any attack surface. You can still update it yourself, by chatting with your AI.
no third-party services
No trackers, no fonts or maps from Google. The site runs on your own web space.

work

Four websites, each built from scratch.

Web design is a side line for me. That is why there are only a few projects here, and I built every one of them myself, from the layout to the upload to the server.

design & code

Design and code from one mind.

I have been programming professionally for more than 25 years, much of it audio software. Plugins are used in the studio under time pressure, so they have to make sense at a glance.

That taught me that a good interface is made in the details: the gap between two knobs, a label you never have to read twice. Websites are no different. Because design and code are in the same hands, nothing gets lost between the two.

backends

When a site needs to do more.

Some things no site builder can do. Then I write them myself: small, on your own web space and without a subscription to a third-party service.
